Tsunami Simulation (32-bit versus 64-bit)

This simulation was run using Mathematica 5.2 on both a 32-bit computer and a 64-bit computer to take advantage of the additional memory available. The additional memory allowed a finer solution grid and thus more data. The 32-bit simulation contains many artifacts since the grid was not fine enough to accurately represent the solution. NDSolve was the primary function used to obtain the numerical solution.

For more information about this example, see the What's New in Mathematica 5.2 pages.
