We took two road trips while in Azerbaijan, one to Novxani, only about
an hour's drive out of the city, and the other to Leyla's dad's
hometown of Qusar in the north, near the Russian border. This gave us
glimpes of the countryside. These scenes below are from the
relatively short drive to Novxani, which is on the dry Absheron
peninsula where Baku lies. Note the salt lake in the lower left.
