| Shashlik is another word for grilled marinated meat. In Avaran we were treated to some Lezghian style mutton cooked on big skewers. After our feast we had some traditional dancing, since Shahmurat had brought the stereo and CD's. The music had a peppy tempo, and it can make your feet really dance up a storm. | |

Methoon appealed
to Uncle Eyyub not to leave as soon as we planned, so we put it off
until after tea on Friday afternoon. Leyla and I would have one last
full day in Baku following that, so we started feeling sad about
leaving, but also somewhat thinking "hey, our trip isn't even half
over yet -- we still have to encounter Russia."
