Hacked-up Development Version
Tom McGinnis is happily hacking away at Advent and Lenten extras, so I'll release my slightly documented, hacked up local development version; it addresses some of the issues Tom raised. You can grab the 105K gzipped tarball here.
It's probably not for the faint of heart.

Happy New Year!
Here's a new release of cal-catholic, just in time for the new liturgical year.
Changes in this release:
- Added the new celebrations listed in the August 2002 newsletter from the USCCB's Bishops' Committee on the Liturgy
- cal-catholic.el (calendar-catholic-date-string): Accounting for the transfer of the Immaculate Conception when 8 Dec falls on a Sunday.
- cal-seasonal.el (christ-the-king): Added info for Christ the King.
You can download a gzipped tarball via this link, or download the individual files from gnu.emacs.sources

New Bug
The current program doesn't transfer the Immaculate Conception to Monday 9 December this year; the USCCB is correct. Time to tinker...

Bugfixes
You can find the new version of the cal-catholic package here (gzipped tarball)
Changes in this release
- Tom McGinnis tracked down and fixed a bug that caused the numbering of weeks in the second half of Ordinary Time to be off by one week in some years. In doing so, he made the computation much more elegant. Thanks, Tom!
- I revoked Saint Jerome's Irish citizenship - he was listed as "oJerome" in cal-sanctoral.el.
- cal-catholic no longer requires the experimental files cal-seasonal-updates.el and cal-sanctoral-updates.el. I used them while experimenting with daily Mass readings; if you'd like to add to them or come up with a better elisp-based data storage system, please do.
- Started this blog to keep track of updates and other information.
- Don't be shy - use the comments feature below to correspond about cal-catholic.
Future plans
- Integration with gnus
- Include a database of daily Mass readings
