I think the word you may be looking for here is "dang" rather than "darn". Dang is the masculine, darn is the feminine. Got it? :-)

Maybe in California... in these parts I think dang is the superlative of darn, and both are euphemisms for the tired overworked damn. Dang does have a slightly masculine connotation, come to think of it. Anyway, had Fr. Ashley linked to my Rosary Blog, his article would have been dang good stuff.

Thanks for the pointer. Never in my life have I distinguished between darn and dang.
