You don't see many flaky Franciscans, do you? They have their share of the Justice-N-Peace(TM) crowd, but on the whole they seem quite balanced. Or are we just spoiled here in the diocese of Peoria?
By the way, how do you pronounce diocese, dioceses and diocesan? I've obstinately stuck to "dio-seez", "dio-seezes" and "die-ah-se-zan", but last night I heard Archbishop John Foley let slip with something like a "dio-see-seez".

I believe you are spoiled in Peoria. Here we have maze-walking, female (Methodist) co-consecrations, and a panoply of other lame-brained, twisted and weird Catholicism and gnosticism out of our local Franciscan Center. It had gotten so bad that I assumed for a while it was a charism of the order. And then i found out how weird some in my own order can be, so I shut my figurative mouth and went back to constant prayer for all the renegades in the Old Orders.
